Celebrating my 50th album release! Why: Nova Loka Release date: 13 November 2026 Nova Loka’s ninth vocal album and 50th album overall

Why blends ambient atmospheres with rhythm-driven lyrical grooves. It’s an album of questions: why we chase what never satisfies, why love hurts, why we forget the spark we were born with. Across ten tracks, the answers it finds are simple: belonging, presence, and the courage to be fierce with what you love.

The sound ranges widely. Ambient downtempo, warmed by strings and samples, sits beside smooth, hypnotic electronic grooves with jazz-inspired breakaways. Ambling passages slide into dubstep-inflected funk, and long-form pieces build, drift and dissolve over more than ten minutes. Repetition is a tool throughout: phrases circle and return until they become mantras, and grooves turn at oblique angles to catch the listener by surprise.

The lyrics move from intimacy to resilience to revelation. There’s a longing for closeness that tests what connection means, and a remembered flame that “guides us all back home”. There’s a retelling of humanity’s oldest survival story, in which we rose through shared voices and the fire we tended together, not through fang or claw. And there’s the gentle challenge to be “fierce with what you love”. The title track asks why we waste so much time chasing what lets us down, “when all we want is so simple”. It is a glorious anthem style. The album closes in an abyssal fade, as threads unravel and angels dissolve, a penchant of reckoning to come.

Due for release on 5 March 2027, The Dreaming is a journey of rhythm and pulse weaving through ambient evolutions that remain in constant, shimmering flux. It is an album built on motion — not frantic motion, but the kind that feels elemental, tidal, quietly inevitable.

From the opening piece, Nascens (Instrumental Version), deep grooves establish themselves like the first heartbeat of a newly forming world. The track sets the tone for the mesmerising absorption that follows: a sense of being drawn inward, layer by layer, into a dream‑logic landscape where everything glows, shifts, and breathes.

Across its movements, The Dreaming radiates brightness and scintillation. Pulses flicker like distant beacons; textures unfurl with the soft volatility of light passing through water; rhythms emerge, dissolve, and reassemble in new forms. Each track becomes a facet of a larger, evolving vision — an album that feels alive, responsive, and perpetually transforming.

This is not simply ambient music with grooves; it is a living system of sound, an unfolding dreamstate where clarity and mystery coexist. The Dreaming invites the listener into a space of heightened perception — a place where the familiar becomes luminous, and the luminous becomes strangely familiar. Album photography by Jeff Davies

Nova Loka’s Bones is a colossal, genre fluid odyssey — a post collapse hymn, a climate lament, a communal prophecy, a psychological excavation, a spiritual offering, and finally, a cosmic invocation. Across thirteen tracks, it constructs an entire emotional universe: dust, tribe, static, breath, graphs, ghosts, robots, ancestors, humanoids, and stars all woven into one living tapestry. This is Nova Loka’s most ambitious vocal work to date — a record where mangled angst, shards, charms, sweet tang, and surprise twist together in a dense, shimmering conglomeration of rhythm and lyrical arising. A world built from ruins The album opens with a creation myth. “Bones” sets the stage in a world split open — concrete like bone, machines dead, skies iron grey. From this wreckage, tribes form, drums of rust echo, and hope is hammered from scrap. It’s a powerful beginning: communal, elemental, ritualistic. Cosmic tenderness in the dark “Invocation of the Stars” and its earlier twin “The Stars They Shine For You” offer the album’s first softening — a cosmic intimacy that glows against the ash. These moments become the album’s emotional lanterns, returning at the end like a benediction. The mind as wasteland Tracks like “Over the Wasteland” and “Mnemonic Ash” plunge inward, revealing the psychological ruins beneath the physical ones. Memory flickers, circuits fail, ambitions hum like ghost wires. These songs form the album’s interior descent — haunting, obsessive, and beautifully fragile. Noise, breath, and the search for quiet “Noise” and “This Breath” introduce the album’s philosophical core. They explore surrender, non grasping, and the quiet field between inhale and exhale. Breath becomes a moral compass, a refuge, a way to undo harm. These tracks are the album’s spiritual chambers — still, clear, and deeply human. Time, ego, and the lure of power “Circadian” captures the drag of time, the frustration of healing that refuses to hurry. “The Sweetest Lure” confronts ego’s seduction — how noble quests falter when fame glints bright. Together, they form the album’s ethical and existential tension: the struggle to remain true in a world of glamour and stagnation. Climate grief close to home “Close to Home This Time” is one of the album’s most urgent pieces — a climate realist lament where graphs rise, rivers lose their song, and sirens cut through sleeping blocks. It’s a powerful grounding of the album’s mythic tone in real world stakes. The communal ache “Companions” is the sociocultural heart of Bones. It mourns the collapse of the village, the shrinking of the “we,” and the loneliness engineered by modern life. Companion bots appear as surrogate intimacy — gentle, helpful, but unable to replace the circle we lost. The ache between us becomes both memory and prophecy. Ancestral release and post human prayer “Tethered” offers the album’s emotional release — cutting inherited fear, breathing new air, seeing with new eyes. Then “Prayer of the Humanoids” flips the lens entirely: a post human liturgy where humanoids honour science, Enlightenment, and the lineage of Homo sapiens. It’s strange, bold, and philosophically playful — a future ritual echoing through the ruins. A cosmic closing Finally, “Invocation of the Stars” returns, completing the circle. After collapse, static, noise, climate grief, memory ash, communal ache, and ancestral release, the stars shine again — not as comfort, but as invocation. A cosmic tether replaces the old one.

My 10th vocal album ‘Now’ traces a vivid emotional and existential arc across fourteen vocal pieces, moving from abrasion to awakening, from fracture to quiet renewal. Burning Sand Parts 1 & 2 open the album with a sense of disorientation and heat‑stripped vulnerability, before Moss Deep and Nursery Roid pull the listener into stranger, more introspective terrain. Salt on My Tongue and Where the Light Gets In widen the frame toward revelation, while Stone in My Throat and Forever explore the weight of unspoken truths and the persistence of connection. The album’s centre—Pulse of Now and The Deeper Whole—anchors the theme of presence, dissolving past and future into a single charged moment. Perennial Hum and Dust drift through cycles of memory and erasure, leading into the intimate closeness of Closer than You Dream. Winter Solstice concludes the journey with a quiet, crystalline stillness, offering a final gesture of clarity and renewal. Album photography by Jeff Davies.
