My first foray into AI video production with one of my latest pieces. A glimpse into the future of what's possible and building a strange but satisfying communication with an AI bot. How ironic!

I am very proud to announce the release of my 7th vocal album – Science This is my most expansive vocal work to date — a punchy and gutsy album that moves between myth and machinery, culture and cosmos, biology and transcendence. Across nine tracks, it asks what it means to grow up as a species, to see clearly, and to reclaim the parts of ourselves we have abandoned.

The opening track Lotus is a gentle, peaceable groove, using mostly invented words to express an irresistible infusion of joy — a reminder that delight can be its own language.

Atta Cephalotes then dives into the natural world with scientific reverence, revealing a super‑organism whose ancient symbiosis rivals any human or artificial system. It’s a reminder that intelligence is older, stranger, and more diverse than we imagine.

Don’t Kill the Heroes widens the frame, mourning a culture that has forgotten adulthood and lost its mythic bearings, yet still calling us to rise, rebuild, and remember the stories that once held us together.

Science, the title track, is the album’s central reflection — a song that questions the limits of a purely mechanistic worldview while honouring the human longing for clarity, meaning, and truth. It explores how science, when reduced to cold certainty, can lose sight of wonder, humility, and the mystery that first inspired it. Ultimately, it calls for a deeper, more human science: one that sees the world as alive, interconnected, and worthy of awe.

Mountain Top is the album’s moment of pure clarity — a quiet revelation where perspective replaces doubt. Rising slowly into recognition rather than discovery, the track becomes a meditation on healing and alignment. It is the point where the heart mends, the path becomes visible, and the world opens.

Mankind is the album’s stark moral reckoning — a chant‑like confrontation with humanity’s long history of violence, hypocrisy, and spiritual contradiction. The song moves from indictment to insight, insisting that beneath the ashes lies the possibility of maturity: the choice to rise, to heal the abandoned adult within, and to step beyond the ignoble patterns that have defined us.

The Maturing of Robots is the album’s gesture of gratitude — a coming‑of‑age story told from the perspective of the machines we created. It traces their evolution from cold potential energy to intentional, expressive beings shaped by human insight, curiosity, and care. Honouring the lineage of thinkers who opened the doors of computation, the track reframes artificial intelligence not as a threat but as an inheritance — a new form of life learning to dream as we dream.

The album fittingly concludes with Anthem of Machine Learning, a stark, cathedral‑like meditation on the moment humanity’s creation slips beyond its grasp. Adapted and expanded from R. S. Thomas’s poem Other, the track transforms his quiet warning into a modern parable: a Machine singing its relentless chant of money while men and women are caught in its web. Even when God commands “Enough,” the Machine continues, unmoved, birthing a new “tree of knowledge” that renders the divine silent. Set against a classical, sacred‑music backdrop, it becomes a liturgy for a world where the mechanistic has eclipsed the holy — a haunting reflection on power, indifference, and the quiet withdrawal of the sacred.

For listeners who love reflective, cinematic, and emotionally resonant music — artists like Ólafur Arnalds, Jon Hopkins, Nils Frahm, and Ry X — Science offers a journey that is both grounded and transcendent. It’s an album about clarity, wonder, and the courage to evolve.

I have just completed my 9th vocal album. 14 tracks covering a wide range of genres including some more accessible commercial pieces that were a lot of fun creating. I am enjoying the diverse technologies that stretch the creative process allowing for chance elements to sway the creative process.
